According to recent data released by the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the state’s unemployment rate held steady from November 2023 to December 2023. The numbers show that the unemployment remained unchanged from 3.5 percent in North Carolina, a 0.3 decline from the unemployment rate one year ago.
The national unemployment rate also held steady at 3.7 percent from November 2023 to December 2023.
The leisure and hospitality industry added 2,500 jobs, the education and health services industry added 1,500 jobs, and the professional and business services industry added 1,100 jobs.
