Gas Prices Steady in Charlotte Amid Hurricane Season Threats

Charlotte’s gas prices remain stable this week, holding at an average of $3.35 per gallon, just 5 cents above last month’s levels. However, with Hurricane Beryl impacting oil and gas infrastructure in Texas, fluctuations are expected in the coming weeks. “As we approach the peak of hurricane season, there’s a risk that the national average could surge temporarily if we see a major storm in the wrong place,” noted GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan.

As of July 8, the Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill metro area’s prices were slightly above the North Carolina average of $3.32. Diesel prices showed minimal change, currently at $3.72 per gallon. This trend is consistent with national data, which indicates potential volatility as weather events disrupt supply chains.
