Get ready to explore Uptown Charlotte like never before! This Saturday, the Historic Landmarks Commission and the Charlotte Spokes People are hosting a bike tour through the historic four wards of Uptown Charlotte. Participants will visit six significant landmarks, including the First A.R.P. Church (now the McColl Center for Visual Arts), the former Mecklenburg Investment Company and North Carolina Medical College buildings, and the Crowell-Berryhill Store (now Alexander Michael’s restaurant).

The tour will also feature 13 additional historic sites, offering a deep dive into Charlotte’s rich history. Stewart Gray, Director of Historic Landmarks, encourages everyone to join, especially those who think Charlotte has lost its historical roots. The event kicks off at 10 a.m. at the Mecklenburg County parking lot on College Street and will proceed rain or shine. Register online by Friday, May 17, to secure your spot. For more details, contact Pamela Murray. Don’t miss this chance to combine exercise with education in a fun, informative event!
